Artist and Genealogist As an active member of these organizations I have participated in numerous art shows,
including a one woman show at the Cook Library of Towson University, Baltimore,
and as "Artist of the Month" at Pine Shores Art Association. In addition,
I have won several awards and my work hangs in private collections.
With my varied interests and continually striving to learn more, I have explored
oils, drawing, watercolor, acrylics and pastels. The subject matter of my works
includes portraits, still life, florals and landscapes, which are chiefly
based on sketches done while traveling in the United States and abroad.
Examples of paintings can be seen
here. As the eldest child of parents who emigrated from Bavaria, Germany in 1922, German was my first language. Wishing to preserve their family history for my children, with the help of relatives in Germany I was able to trace nearly all my family lines to the early 1700's, and a few even earlier. My husband's family, with the exception of one line, were Potato Famine immigrants who settled in Manhattan from Ireland and remained there until very recent generations. Listed here are names that have been researched. |
